After a lot of controversies finally Vishwaroopam has been finally released in Tamilnadu. Vishwaroopam has received a tremendous response from the audience. Most theaters run with full houses and tickets from most theatre have been booked till February 14th. The movie has been released around 500 theatres across Tamilnadu.
Vishwaroopam was earlier stated to release on January 25th, got postponed due to the ban imposed by the Tamilnadu Government. Finally Kamal agreed to cut 7 scenes after discussion with the muslim groups after which the ban was lifted. The movie also suffered a jolt when the Tamilnadu Theater Owner Association decided not to screen the movie after Kamal had decided to release the movie on DTH a day prior to its theatrical release. Subsequently Kamalhaasan withdrew the idea of a premier DTH’s release.
Vishwaroopam 2:
Way before its release KamalHaasan has said there will be a sequel to Vishwaroopam (Vishwaroopam 2).
An English daily reported on Thursday that some scenes for the sequel have also been shot. The daily quoted Atul Tiwari, who has written Vishwaroopam along with Kamal Haasan, as saying, “We have already started working on Vishwaroopam 2, and the scripting for the sequel is on. In fact, while shooting Vishwaroopam, we had already shot some scenes for Vishwaroopam 2.
