Some statistics about the districts :

At present there are 32 districts in Tamilnadu. Chennai is the smallest district  in TN terms of area, but it has the highest human density. It is also the capital of the state. Chennai is also the most urbanized district of TN. Kanyakumari is the next one followed by Coimbatore. Tirupur is the latest one to be made as a district. Each district is deployed with one collector.

Among the ten districts ten are municipal corporations. Districts of Tamilnadu also have taluks, blocks, panchayats etc.The ten corporations have been indicated by blue color in the given table below.
