Aircel Chennai Open is a Tennis tournament conducted annually. The tournament will be played from  January 2^nd to January 8^th 2012.  The tournament comprises of two events - Men’s Singles and Doubles.  The tournament will be played on a hard court(Play Pave and features a total prize money of  $450,000. The venue of the event is SDAT Tennis Stadium in Chennai. The courts have the facility to accommodate 5800 spectators. Chennai Open 2012
will be the 17^th  edition of the tournament. The tournament has witnessed some big players such as Carlos Moya, Boris Becker and Rafael Nadal.

Chennai open 2012:

This year’s event will feature 9 players who are seeded in the top 50 International men’s rankings. Besides twelve players from the top 100 rankings will also play in the tournament. The biggest expectations from the Indian’s point of view will be Somdev Devvarman . The Indian Express Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes will feature in the Men’s doubles.
