All India Bank Strike Today on August 5


The all India Nationwide bank strike  initiated by United Forum of Bank Unions is likely to go one day bank strike in India August  5 2011. The strike was actually planned on July 7 but since the Parliament session was postponed the strike was also postponed.
All the major Bank Unions are to go on strike,

  4. Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank Limit
  5. Indian Overseas Bank
  6. Punjab National Bank
  7. Bank of Maharashtra
  8. Bank of India
  9. Bank of Baroda
  10. Andhra Bank
  11. Central Bank of India
  12. Allahabad Bank
  13. Central Bank of India
  14. Corporation Bank
  15. Dena Bank
  16. Oriental Bank of Commerce
  17. Punjab & Sind Bank
  18. Syndicate Bank

And other major banks also go under strike.

Some Demands of the All India bank Strike:


  • Privatization of Nationalised Banks should not proceed further   
  • Merger of the banks should not be  initiated
  •   Outsourcing in Banks  should be stopped
  • Shareholding in Public Sector Banks should not be reduced by the Central Government


If all the banks are closed today,   some of the doubts which arise
1.Will the ATM of the banks be open today?
 ATM of the Banks  will be open today for cash disbursements , Until cash is available.

2.Will Cash withdrawals be possible?
No, except ATM , cash withdrawals and transactions would not be available
Only transfer money Online Banking would  be possible to selected accounts.
